“So, like so many others,  you’re thinking about taking the plunge into the wonderful world of scooters?  We don’t blame you! Below is some useful information regarding licensing, registration and also the benefits of scooter ownership.”

Value – Guaranteed not to break the bank!!
Scooter ownership offers considerable savings over alternative vehicle ownership when costs such as purchase price, fuel, registration, insurance and maintenance are considered.

Efficient – ready for your fast pace lifestyle!
Better spend your valuable time! No more hours wasted looking for a car park while the increased manoeuvrability a scooter offers in traffic can shave travel times significantly.

Fun!
Riding a scooter is quite simply fun. Whether you choose to join an owners club, ride with friends or simply commute riding a scooter will bring a smile to your face.

Fashionable – Make a statement!
All those Europeans surely can’t be wrong! Stand out from the crowd!!

Environmentally friendly – Green!!
It goes without saying that scooters produce only a fraction of the greenhouse gases that cars and buses do...... Start reducing your carbon foot print today!!

Licensing and registration

Licensing requirements are state specific and further information can be obtained from local authorities (please see contact list below).

The question most commonly asked regarding licensing is LA or LC? LA and LC are vehicle classifications which help determine the level of licensing you require to operate a vehicle from within that category.
LA is a special classification for scooters of 50cc or less that meet certain criteria (speed restrictions etc.). In the states of QLD, WA, NT and SA you may operate a scooter that falls under the LA classification on a car license. Please refer to this guide provided by the Australia Scooter Federation to help you fully understand the requirements in your state.

You will be required to undertake training and testing provided by an accredited motorcycle course provider in order to ride an LC category vehicle
